Bol - Asian Classics Reimagined has garnered consistent praise for its innovative approach to traditional Asian cuisine, blending nostalgic flavors with contemporary techniques. Reviewers frequently highlight the meticulous craftsmanship and artistic presentation of each dish, which together create a memorable and immersive dining experience. The restaurant’s tasting menus are noted for their creativity and thoughtful progression, offering a harmonious balance of bold and subtle flavors. Service is commonly described as attentive and professional, contributing to an elevated, fine-dining atmosphere. It’s my aunt’s birthday and the first day when our family arrived in Malaysia and we chose this restaurant to celebrate the birthday. Dining at bōl was nothing short of extraordinary—a journey of flavors, memories, and meticulous craftsmanship. The tasting menu, titled Rasa Kenangan (“The Taste of Memories”), weaves nostalgia with culinary finesse, transforming traditional flavors into modern masterpieces. What made the experience even more special was the personal attention from the chef, who thoughtfully introduced the inspiration and philosophy behind the menu. His passion for heritage cuisine and storytelling through food was both moving and memorable. Every dish was served with a detailed explanation by the attentive and knowledgeable staff, who shared the cultural background and ingredients with great care, enhancing our appreciation of each course. From the symbolic “Sayap Nyonya” to the delicately layered “Rahsia Cinta,” each creation was not just a dish, but a story brought to life. The reimagined Pongteh was a soulful highlight—warm, rich, and perfectly balanced. The wine pairings were equally well-considered, with selections like Sanfeletto Prosecco and Tenuta Ulisse Pecorino elevating each dish’s unique flavors. The elegant ambiance, heartfelt service, and deep respect for tradition made this dinner a truly immersive and unforgettable fine dining experience. Highly recommended for those seeking not just a meal, but a meaningful culinary journey.

We had the Nonya’s Gift menu and it was absolute delight. The creativity behind the creation of each dish was extremely interesting, paired with Chef’s warm and funny introductions during our meal - the entire experience was wonderful! A self-taught chef that managed to have 2 Michelin awards in just 2.5 years - the food and service delivery speaks volume of what Chef Kian Liew and his team could achieve with determination and humility; learned so much from Chef and would 10/10 come back in my trip to KL!

An absolutely stunning dining experience! Every dish at Bol - Asian Reimagined felt like a piece of edible art, beautifully presented, full of bold flavours, and rooted in rich cultural storytelling. The Rojak tart and wagyu were standouts but honestly every course was memorable. Can't wait to return and explore more of their culinary magic.

As a fine dining enthusiast, I can confidently say this experience is truly Michelin star-worthy. Every dish was a masterpiece. Innovative, intentional, and executed with precision. The service was impeccable, elevating the entire meal. Each ingredient played a distinct role in the flavour profile, blending seamlessly to create perfect harmony. The progression of courses felt like a thoughtful journey, with each dish building on the last to deepen the overall experience. From presentation to palate, the attention to detail was remarkable, making it not just a meal, but a memorable sensorial experience. A destination well worth travelling for.

Went there for an appreciation dinner hosted by one of our partners after a kick-off. This restaurant is situated in one of the older areas of Kuala Lumpur and we almost missed it while driving past it. At the restaurant entrance, it showed their crowning glory of being award Michelin star restaurant 2025 and 2024. Service was very attentive and good. Ambiance was nice but not as cosy as I had anticipated. However, I noticed immediately was that they didn’t ask whether I am have any food allergies. They also didn’t explain each course of the dinner which I expect a M-Star restaurant to do. So I thought this is one area they could improve on. Nonetheless, they redeemed with their good food. I like their localised twist of fine dining. Rojak entree, lobster meat and the Wagyu was nicely cooked. The taste was well balanced and flavourful. Worth a visit.

Visited in Apr 2025 Specialising in Nyonya/Peranakan cuisine, Bol is a true gem of the restaurant in KL. Appearing in the Michelin guide for the last few years, the recognition this restaurant has received recently is well deserved in my view. The restaurant’s interiors are absolutely gorgeous and it shows the efforts the owners have put in to make the dining experience worthwhile. Only a tasting menu is available here and the choice is between 7 or 8 courses. I went with the 8 course menu where basically instead of 1 main course, I got 2 main courses of red snapper and wagyu (albeit both in smaller portions versus if I would have gone with 1 main course). Among the pre-mains, the torched lobster and the lamb courses were my favourite, and among the 2 mains I liked the red snapper course better (as the sauce of the red snapper course was fantastic). I didn’t have any drinks but there is a wine and cocktail menu for those interested. Service was quite good and there was nothing to complain about on that front. Overall, Bol is definitely one of the best restaurants in KL in my opinion and I would definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the city.

I just had a great experience in Bol restaurant. I'm traveling alone for a few months and food is a big motivation in my trip. I saw the Bol restaurant and after some research I didn't want to miss it, so I went. The food was delicious (especially the seafood and fish, in my opinion). The service and welcome were very nice (I arrived late but they made me feel super comfortable). Shamik was very attentive to me and I had a very pleasant conversation with the chef! It was very good work. Thanks again to all the staff, and good luck!! Next time in KL, I’ll come back! Alain

Unique interior, remarkable service and spectacular food. We went there for a birthday celebration, and I must say, the menu did not disappoint any of us at all. From the moment we walked into the restaurant until we left, the service staff were more than courteous and took their time explaining every dish in detail to us. Serving timing was great as well between courses. We opted for one vegetarian menu, and it was just as good as the regular menu. The final touch was a nice element of surprise, where you get to take a piece of Bol home with you. The only remark is that the first bottle of bubbles served was not chilled enough, but perhaps we prefer it colder.
